Description
Homemade 3 Musketeers Bars are a fluffy, chocolatey treat. This recipe recreates the classic candy bar with a light, whipped chocolate nougat center coated in smooth milk chocolate. They are nostalgic and easy to make at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips, divided
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup marshmallow creme
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang.
- Melt 1 cup milk chocolate chips with heavy cream in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Beat the melted chocolate mixture with marshmallow creme and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
- Spread the nougat evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
- Lift the slab onto a cutting board and cut into 12 bars with a warm, sharp knife.
- Melt the remaining 1 cup milk chocolate chips until silky.
- Dip each bar to coat, letting excess drip off, and place on parchment to set.
- Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes until the chocolate is fully set.
Notes
- Chill the nougat fully so bars hold their shape during dipping.
- For an ultra-smooth coating, thin melted chocolate with 1 to 2 teaspoons neutral oil.
- Use a dipping fork or two forks to minimize fingerprints and ensure clean edges.
- Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt before the coating sets for a gourmet finish.
