Description

A smoky white cheddar honey butter chicken pasta skillet combines juicy chicken, sweet honey butter, and sharp white cheddar with pasta for a comforting and easy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut bite-sized)
  • 1 pound Pasta (penne, rotini, or similar)
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups Shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 2 Green onions (for garnish), sliced

Instructions

  1. Boil pasta in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, tossing with a splash of oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in honey, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add chicken pieces to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-9 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Stir in shredded white cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  9. Sprinkle sliced green onions over the top before serving.

Notes

  • For added vegetables, stir in baby spinach or chopped kale before adding the cheese.
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes or chipotle powder for a spicier kick.
  • Shrimp or leftover rotisserie chicken can be used instead of chicken breast.
  • Sharp yellow cheddar or Monterey Jack can be substituted for white cheddar.
  • Serve with a green salad or roasted vegetables.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, reheating with a splash of milk or broth.
